The Starlight Room was born from an idea by Raniero Campigotto, who, in 2016, created and patented the first wooden room with glass walls. The goal was to allow guests to enjoy a unique experience: sleeping under the stars immersed in breathtaking nature.
Thanks to the great success of the project, the design has then been developed to offer even more comfortable and exciting experiences.
The Starlight Room is built following sustainable principles, using larch and fir wood masterfully crafted by local artisans and features solar panels to generate electrical power.
An innovative mechanism allows the room to rotate around itself to offer ever changing views of the breathtaking surroundings.
The interiors, cared for in every detail and made with natural wood and the typical fabrics of Cortina, reproduce the traditional style of mountain cabins.
The room is organized in two main areas: on one side, a table furnished with a bench to enjoy a romantic dinner while watching the sunset and, on the other side, a queen-size bed. The glass walls surrounding the room offer unmatchable views over the spectacular Dolomites. The room also features a small bathroom (without shower) and is equipped with a heating system to guarantee maximum comfort in winter times when the landscape is covered in snow and temperatures drop.
The Starlight Room is located in a quiet, secluded area; the Rifugio Col Gallina staff will accompany guests by snowmobile in winter and off-road vehicle in summer.
